Make appreciation something to keep

Open-source recognition and rewards for teams. Self-hosted, with data under your control. A team lead sends thanks with a reward; the reward goes toward real benefits; and every step of recognition someone receives unlocks a pixel pastry that stays on their shelf for good — even after the reward is spent.
This is a demo. The bakery team, balances and history below are invented, and everything stays in your browser. The self-hosted Crumb adds sign-in and roles, a list of benefits your team chooses, and an admin confirming each request.

Three rules. All three are deliberate, and two of them are the interesting ones.
The shelf counts recognition received, not money held. Spend your whole balance and your pastries stay. A thank-you from last spring is still on the shelf.
$50 received = 1 pastryIt names what’s coming — never how far away it is. Nobody can make recognition arrive faster, so a progress bar would only be noise. Hidden, it stays a gift instead of an accounting statement.
“Egg Tart is in the oven”Every person’s shelf fills in its own fixed order, so the same balance looks different on every phone. In the original bakery it turned into something people compared on shift — which was the point.
